Merry Christmas!!

Just wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and hope that amongst all the festivities you remember the most important reason for Christmas, Jesus Christ. Thank you for coming to earth to be our Saviour and die on the cross for our sins. We can't think of the manger without thinking about the cross. They go together.

Peace and love to all you this Christmas.

Pilates

My new favourite thing! Pilates! I'm a beginner and went to my first class on Friday! I think I may be hooked. I'm going to my second class at 12pm today. It seemed so effortless at first but then my poor tummy muscles were in spasm the whole week-end!! I couldn't even laugh properly.

But yes, I am going back! call me a sucker for punishment or whatever.

Anyone else out there do Pilates? I'd love some tips!

Cool.

Christmas is Coming!

This year I've found it a bit a harder to get into the Christmas spirit! I think the recession vibes have given us all a bit of a knock down this year, but also an opportunity to get more creative and see what gifts we can come up with on a tight budget! I think we should all start using our talents and make some stuff this year!

I'm definitely gonna start researching some things to make cheaply from home that will also make great gifts!

Please leave me a comment if you have any ideas!

3 weeks to 10k!

Ok, so I'm starting to freak out a little! Its less than 3 weeks to the darn 10k that I went and committed myself to!! I had a little meltdown last night where I wanted to quit, but a friend of mine called me and gave me a 'swift kick in the butt' figuratively. So, I got my butt into gear and went run/walking 5km on a treadmill this morning! I nearly DIED! What am I trying to run 10k's for I ask myself?? Madness I tell you!

But, my over-achiever personality will not let me quit, so I will continue to train for the 10, even though I'm not sure I'm gonna make it and just do the best I can!

Felt like posting another pic of the wedding, just because it makes me smile.

Sushi, Limo's & Ayobaness!

On Friday we had the most awesome ladies night for my bf's bachelorettes! we hired a limo and went cruising about town!

Firstly we went to Pepeneros for sushi (my fav) and cocktails, then on to Hemisphere to party the night away! I bought these new killer heels and my feet were dead sore the next day, but it was SO worth it!!!

Here's a pic of me and my galfriends in front of the limo! It was the most fun I have had in a long time!! I could so get used to that lifestyle of arriving in a limo!! its part of my becoming fab!

One more assignment to go!

New Balance Shoes Rocks!

So posting my quote yesterday worked! It motivated me to go for my running training today! I was running 4m walking 2min today and I nearly died!! Really, it was tough. The only plus was that I got to take me new running shoes for a trial run! I bought them last week at the New Balance sale! They are absolutely awesome. They're the New Balance 1061. It really feels like I'm running on clouds and they're really, really comfy! yay!

PS. I LOVE shoes. I'm addicted to them! My dh might throw me out if I buy another pair!

What sorts of things are you addicted to?

Difference between...

"There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you interested in doing something, you only do it when its convenient. When you committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results." Kenneth Blanchard

I needed to post this to myself today so that I can be committed and get up and go run tomorrow!

only 7 weeks til my 10km race!
yikes!

1 down 1 to go!

so I survived a 3 hour 40 min exam on Education and Development! Most people didnt complete but I think I finished like 98% of everything! I am going to sue my University if I develop arthritis in my right hand by the time I'm 35!! I've never written that fast in my life!

thanks for the tip of yesterday! I had a red bull and a nap! hee hee. Now, I think I should have an early night, have to be up for a work meeting tomorrow and the rest of the week consists of more studying for my exam on Friday.

There's no better feeling than completing an exam! the finality of it all!

studying and more studying...

it Sunday, my dh has cooked us a fabulous lunch, we went to a fabulous wedding yesterday and now what an anti-climax that I have to sit with these books for my exam tomorrow!!!

The problem is not putting in the time, but actually focussing and taking in the information. I'm really struggling with that right now. Maybe a nap will help or a red bull??

Any ideas??

On Bukhara, Col Cacchio and trying to lose weight..

Ok so I think I've mentioned that I am going to be in my bf's wedding in 2 weeks. And I am attending our bestman's wedding tom! So, in preparation for my bridesmaid duties, I decided to attempt to shed a few kilos. 17 thus far to be exact but still more to go. But can someone please explain to me how to try and lose weight and still have a social life in Cape Town! Last night as it was our anniversary, dh and I went to Bukharas for the first time. Always wanted to try their food as we are curry lovers! But sadly, we were not impressed. Really, it wasnt amazing at all, pretty average actually.

And then today I went to Col Cacchio in Cavendish to have lunch with my mentor. Really great pizza! I even brought one home for my dh as pizza is his absolute favourite take out.

In between all this, studying has to happen as I am writing an exam on Monday and still busy with a ridiculous assignment thats depressing me as I am getting no where with it :(

And to top it all off, I was so tired after going to bed at 4:15am this morning that I didn't get to do my running training today...oh well with have to catch up!

Happy Anniversary to us!

Do you know what today is? Its my anniversary...la la la...My DH and I have been married 4 years today!! And its stilll as great as it was when we first met, actually better. Marriage is great when you're totally inlove with someone who loves you back, respects you, treats you like a queen, supports you in everything you do and you do the same back. And taking the time to get to really know each other, building those solid foundations on God.

Planning to go out for a special dinner tonight, no time for a getaway this month with studies, exams and weddings coming up. Hope for a week-end getaway some time next month.

well, I have to complete an assignment on the worst topic in the whole world before I even to go out tonight!

laters...

Here goes...

I'll keep my first post short and sweet. I'm supposed to be completing an assignment but I am the master of work avoidance and procrastination. The dh(darling hubby) is out at a friends stag night...mmm...I wonder how that's going??

We are off to the wedding this Sat. It seems to be wedding season for us. My bf is getting married on 14 Nov. I am going to be a bridesmaid *blush*. Will let you know how that goes...

Right, back to the books. Oh, I've also set my challenge no.1 and am crossing this off my bucket list:

1. Run a 10k race.

If anyone who knows me is reading this, you will know that this monumental in my life as I absolutely suck at running. I'm following the Shape Mag 'run 10km in 12 weeks' programme...
Currently I am running 3min walking 2 min...I really am baffled at the thought that I will someday be able to run more than 3mins which already feels like my heart is going to burst out of my chest! back to the treadmill tom to run 4min walk 2min.

I'll be back if I survive....
