My Current Fabulista!

This is what's on my current fabulista!! I am obssessed with summer dresses at the moment! I just love them. I wish I had more, I wish I had the body to wear all of these! When I reach my goal weight, this is all I'm gonna wear all of the time!

I can't wait! What is one thing you will you do when you reach your ideal weight?

WiW Update 2

I totally did not want to post this update today!!I wish Weigh in Wednesday would go away!!

But I promised that I would do it and I will.

Today I gained 0.6kg!!! aaarrggh! So frustrating. I have a sneaky feeling that its all the food that I ate at my bf's bday lunch on Sunday!

Other than that my week was pretty normal.

1. I'm still not gaining control over my eating over week-ends! I need to work on that.
2. I drank more water than was required.
3. I've exercised Mon, Tue and Wed and plan to do so Thur and Fri.

My plan for this week is to go back to basic WL principles and go back to weighing all my food! I think my portions might be out of sync. So, I''l try that.

Also plan to start eating High Fibre Bran again for breakfast.

Mini Goals Update
*Drink 2l of water. I have been drinking more than 2l per day. Thats a plus.
*Lose 2kg by 3 Feb. I have now backtracked on the 2kg loss I wanted by 3 Feb!
* To eat more vegetables this week. I must confess that I am not a fan of eating fruit and vegetables. I haven't really been doing much of that...
* Drink 4-5 cups of green tea every day. I've managed to do that.
* New mini goal. Weigh all food this week and see if it makes a difference?

Starting date - 13/01/10 - 14kg to go!
21/01/10 - -1.0kg
27/01/10 - +0.6kg (angry face!)

Guess who's going to the UK!!

Hello friends!!

This week-end was so great! On Friday I went for sushi with my bffs. On Sat we did some shopping and spent time with dh's family. And on Sunday, it was my bff's bday and we had a fab luncheon at their new home and ate ate ate! Ok, so now I have to see what that means for the scale!

More good news, I booked a ticket to the UK for work last week! I'll be staying on Oxford with one of our work sponsors. I've always wanted to go to Oxford!! I'm going to be assisting with some fundraising for the projects in our NGO!! I am so excited! The only bummer is that dh cannot come along :( He has to work!! So, I'll be in the UK from 5-31 May!! I can't wait!!

WiW update 1

Sorry for the delayed update on WiW but I only managed to get to the gym today to weigh due to a visit from the red monthlies gang! BUT, I have some good news! I lost 1 kilo this week!!! Yippee! Thats 2.2 pounds for those who work in pounds. I really wasnt expecting actuallly but it was a great surprise!

So how did I do this week?

1. My eating was pretty normal each week day except for the fact that I seem to be craving something sweet after supper. I think thats a terrible habit that I picked up over the festive season! So, in my naughtiness there's been a couple of nights where I had a bowl of ice-cream and yoghurt (yes I like them mixed together).

My typical daily menu was as follows:

Breakfast: 30g of WW Cheerios with FF Milk & coffee
Lunch: 2 slices WW toast with pb/cheese/fish paste
Supper: 200g chicken/meat, 100g baby potatoes and small salad
Drinks: 2L water, coke light, tea, coffee
Snacks: 2 fruits, yoghurt

Ok those were good days which were basically 5 out of 7. Week-ends are so hard for me to eat properly. I think that one can relax a bit on a week-end as long as it is in moderation. This Sunday however is my bff's birthday and we are planning a huge luncheon!! We are going to eat!! SO I hope that I can be extra good the rest of the week!

2. Exercise wasn't as good as I had planned. I would really like to reach 3 gym sessions for the week and then 4. At the moment,I'm probably averaging 2. Ok, plan for the week is to gym, Friday, Monday and Wed. Lets see if I can do it.

Update on Mini Goals and new mini goals:
*I have been reaching most of my water everyday. I would safely say between 1.5L and 2L
* I am half way to reversing my 2kg's gained since Nov.
* New mini goal to eat more vegetables this week. I must confess that I am not a fan of eating fruit and vegetables.
* Drink 4-5 cups of green tea every day. I've been trying that this week but I think it may be keeping me up at night. Does this happen to anyone else?

Starting date - 13/01/10 - 14kg to go!
21/01/10 - Lost 1.0kg

Things I learnt this week-end

  • Watching cartoons in the morning is still cool...Haven't done that in ages
  • I'm terrible with diets over the week-end!
  • I'm so over Mugg & Bean. Don't like their cake, coffee or prices anymore.
  • Family is important. Make time to spend with them as life is short.
  • I'm enjoying my box of Wholegrain Cheerios. My little treat before I go back to my regular High Fibre Bran!
  • I need to drink more green tea and less coffee!

Review: The September Issue

Yesterday I spent some quality time with myself and went to see " The September Issue."

Its a documentary that revolves around Anna Wintour and the making of the biggest issue of Vogue magazine, i.e. The September 2007 issue. It s a great film for anyone who loves magazines(like I do!) and who has any interest in fashion.

I think what drew me to the film was the chance to see what makes one of the most powerful women in the American fashion industry tick. You get to see a bit into Anna's life and past but I think that the actual hero of the film is her Creative Director, Grace, a former model who worked for British Vogue and now Amercian Vogue for more than 20 years. She was more of an inspiration in the film than Anna, I think...Its also interesting that the most powerful women in the American fashion industry are both British!

I give this movie 4 fab stars and would recommend you see it!

Weigh-in Wednesdays!

WiW is a new challenge that I want to set for myself and for any others who would like to join me! I would appreciate the support and I'm sure you would like to drop a few kilos too!

I've decided to set myself a challenge and see if I can lose 14 kilos by the end of April! I little history on my weight loss thus far. Last year for my bf's wedding, we decided to join Weigh-less and drop some weight for the wedding. I succeeded in losing 16 kilograms but would like to lose another 14 to reach my actual goal weight. I'm no longer with WL but I am still following the good eating habits that I learnt. I'm also joined the gym and want to stick to that. I must admit that I did do a bit of damage to my weight loss over the festive season and think that I need to fix that asap.

So the weight loss challenge to myself and anyone who is interested is as follows!

1. There are 15 weeks til the end of April. You need to decide how much you would like to lose by then.
2. I will weigh in every Wednesday at the gym and post my results on my blog. Posts will happen whether I have lost, gained or maintained!
3. I will be following the WL principles but you can follow any healthy programme that you want to! No quick fixes or diet pills!
4. I will set weekly exercise goals and post on a Wed as to whether I have achieved them.
5. I will set mini goals each week and see if I have reached them.
6. I will also give weekly updates on my eating habits and welcome feedback as to where I can improve!
7. I hope to be brave enough to post pics! eek!

Thats all for now! Let the challenge begin!

My first 2 mini goals are as follows:
1. Start drinking 2 litres of water a day
2. Reverse 2kg gained since November by 3 Feb 2010!

5 Things on My Current Fabulista!

Greetings in 2010!

I know that I am seriously overdue for a post! I have so much to say but don't know where to start! I also am delayed in posting my New Years Goals! I'll have them up soon!! I promise! I'm looking forward to HUGE things in 2010!

So this is an easy post to get myself going!

5 Things on my Current Fabulista!

1. Japanese Cherry Blossom products from the Body Shop! ( I LOVE that smell! Its also the name of the events company that I co-own)
2. Dermalogica skin care range ( I covet them but I cant afford it sadly!)
3. The colours RED and PURPLE are my fav right now! I can't get enough!
4. Going to the beach and sun-tanning! (with sunscreen of course! its going to be 36 degrees Celsius in Cape Town tomorrow!)
5. Pilates! (I've been away over the festive season, but I am back!

I'm on my last week of holidays and plan to make the most of the me time that I have left. I definitely want to go to the beach tomorrow and catch some sun and sea! For those that live in Cape Town, you will know that someone was killed by a shark today on Fish Hoek definitely won't be going there!

I'm also going to be posting the details of my weight loss challenge! I would love to lose 10kg's by end April! Lets see if I can do it! Will give a full previous weight loss post and current weight loss status soon soon!!
